Why Use An Airboat?

Airboats are incredibly versatile and can be used for search and rescue missions, hunting and fishing, bird watching and natural environment tours or for traveling short distances. Airboats can maneuver quickly and easily in areas that previously required either moving slowly or damaging a sensitive environment. The airboat is an environment friendly way of accessing areas that were previously inaccessible to other forms of motorized vehicles.
Airboats make docking or beaching a boat much easier than with traditional boats. They can be driven onto land with the propeller then easily driven back into the water. They are not hovercrafts and cannot be driven far across land, but they can be used to drive five to ten feet on shore and then back into the water. This permits easy on-shore loading and unloading of transported material and people on board. Without the need of a dock, a boat ramp or cable winches, the airboat proves itself a novel type of transportation on the water.
Airboats, unlike many other kinds of boats, are very low maintenance. Usually boats are thought of as proverbial "money pits," but not airboats. They can easily be taken care of without spending a lot of money on storage or repairs. Most airboats are built with a high-quality aluminum alloy hull resistant to dents and punctures that will never rust.
Whether in sport, recreation, tours or rescue, airboats are a viable alternative to traditional boats and provide a maneuverability and speed other boats cannot match. If this is not reason enough to use such a boat, think about the damage regular propeller engines do to environments. Especially in shallow water, regular propeller engines damage the vegetation and ruin the home of many aquatic animals.
The protected marshes and wetlands of the United States and everywhere else around the world must be protected and left as untouched as possible by what are, essentially, recreational activities. Swamps and wetlands lay host to many differently species of animals and are one of the most diverse living environments in the world. It is our duty to take the precautions to protect them.
